roadnorth is a creative services studio founded by director, doug purver.
doug is an industry veteran with vast experience in post-production, who has recently turned his focus to directing live
action content. his captivating short film "omar and his skyhook" was just selected
for SHOOT’s New Directors Showcase.
prior to establishing roadnorth, doug helped to launch Stardust NY, as lead animator. during his two years with the company,
he became the animation/vfx director and often acted as vfx supervisor. doug oversaw and led the post-production process
for work on brands like Nokia, Sprint, Avon, Hugo Boss, Nike, Bud Light, Target, Walmart, and MTV, while collaborating
with top tier agencies such as Grey, NY; TBWA\Chiat\Day, NY; and Goodby Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco.
in 2007 doug left Stardust to pursue directorial opportunities, while continuing work with animation and vfx shops as a
freelance artist. he has completed projects with Lifelong Friendship Society,
Buck, Eyeball, and SUSPECT, with the majority
of his time spent as a lead compositor with Psyop. through his experience, doug has acquired a deep and varied skill set in
post-production techniques and technology, providing him with a diverse toolkit he now implements in his directing work.
when not making films, doug’s been found building things, traveling,
taking photos, and meeting the randomness that life has to offer.
